Gingrich draws upon notification of Palestinian statement

As President of the Republic attached to hopefuls debate in Iowa on Saturday night, some controversial comments in the Middle East with new board-the new get a lot of attention.

Newt Gingrich has called the Palestinian people “invented”. Palestinian officials fired back saying Gingrich had “lost touch with reality.” CBS News correspondent Dean Reynolds in Iowa saw this latest controversy.

Gingrich–a former history professor–may well have fueled concerns about leadership and temperament with comments this week on the Middle East–Israel and Palestine is a special story.

“There is no Palestinian State,” he said in an interview with The Jewish Channel. “It is part of the Ottoman Empire. And I think we’ve found that the Palestinian people that even Saudi and historically was part of the Arab community and they had a chance to go many places.

Calling into question the legitimacy of Palestine and the State of their own desire to run counter to American policy, as well as Israel, which supports a two-State solution based on negotiations.
